Mill No. 5 (0.6 miles)
Mill No. 5 is an indoor streetscape of storefronts including coffee shops, a movie theatre, farmers market, and a variety of shops. The coffee shop, Coffee and Cotton offers some of the best coffee in the city as well as locally sourced breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Mill No. 5 also hosts a year-round farmers market on Sundays from 10am-1pm featuring local farms and food vendors from all over the Greater Lowell area. In addition, Mill No 5. is the home to over a dozen local shops. Featuring everything from an art gallery to a bookstore, there is something for everyone at Mill No. 5.
Merrimack Repertory Theatre (1.1 miles)
The Merrimack Repertory Theatre is a 279-seat nonprofit theatre that has been operating in the city of Lowell for over 40 years. The theatre produces seven productions a year, regularly including several premieres. Several shows produced at the Merrimack Repertory Theatre have gone on to play Off-Broadway runs. Individual tickets are sold as well as Season Subscriptions at a discounted rate for the package.
Western Avenue Studios (1.1 miles)
Western Avenue is a five-story space featuring artist’s studios and vendors from around the city of Lowell. It is home to over 350 artists as well as a Brewery. Many of the artists that call Western Avenue home offer classes in everything from drawing and painting to jewelry making and glass blowing. Classes are open to the local community and skills range from beginner to expert. On the First Saturday of each month, the artists of Western Avenue Studios host open studios with demos and workshops.
Lowell Memorial Auditorium (1.2 miles)
The Lowell Memorial Auditorium is a 2,800-seat venue. They host singers, comedians, and performers from all over the world. Previous performers include Martina McBride, Josh Turner, Celtic Woman, Jay Leno, Chris Young, and many more. Every Thursday night from January through March, the Auditorium hosts ‘Lowell Golden Gloves,’ a series of boxing matches to benefit charity, and every September the Auditorium hosts the annual Lowell Irish Festival. The auditorium also regularly hosts conferences and conventions.
Tsongas Arena (1.3 miles)
The Tsongas Arena is a 7,000-seat hockey arena owned and operated by UMass Lowell. In the winter, the arena is home to UMass Lowell’s Division One Men’s Hockey Team home games. In the off-season, the Tsongas Arena hosts concerts and other public events, including job fairs, skating competitions and graduation ceremonies for area high schools, colleges and universities. It also hosts major UMass Lowell events, such as the annual Commencement ceremonies and Open Houses for the college. In the winter time, UMass Lowell offers a variety of dates for open skate on the rink.
Lowell Spinners Baseball (1.5 miles)
The Lowell Spinners are a minor league baseball team, affiliated with the Boston Red Sox, who play in Lowell, MA. The team plays 38 home games each season at Edward A. LeLacheur Park near the UMass Lowell campus. Many Spinners players throughout the year have climbed the ranks to become Major Leaguer Baseball players. Perfect for the entire family, the Spinners provide giveaways, promotions, and themed nights at almost every single home game of the season.
University of Massachusetts Lowell (1.5 miles)
UMass Lowell is a public university within the University of Massachusetts System. The University has 18,000 students and is the second largest public college in the state of Massachusetts. UMass Lowell offers 120 bachelor's degree, 43 master's degree, and 25 doctoral degree programs.
Lowell-Dracut-Tyngsborough State Forest (4.4 miles)
The Lowell-Dracut-Tyngsborough State Forest is over 1,000 acres and spreads across three towns. The forest features over 6 miles of hiking trails as well as several ponds that offer opportunities for fishing and boating. The forest is also known for cross country skiing and snow mobile paths in the winter and hunting and horseback riding in the summertime. Free parking is available.
Nashoba Valley Ski Area (11.8 miles)
Nashoba Valley Ski Area opened in the 1960s in Westford, MA and features 17 trails for skiing and snowboarding. In the winter, Nashoba Valley also has New England’s largest snowtubing facility with four lifts, over 600 snow tubes and 16 lanes. In the fall, Nashoba Valley hosts Witches’ Woods, a haunted hayride and scream park. The Outlook Restaurant at Nashoba Valley operates year round for dining and catering services.
